I'm holding my empty plate towards you, Judith.
On another subject (No, we weren't discussing it, but we are now)
Whilst sorting out 60 years of work, I just found some paperwork on a Railway job, back in the 1990's.
This may amuse: There was some talk of giving the Motrice (Locomotives) Names, of heroes from their relevant Countries. There was a Mortrice at each end (top and tail) of each trains. So Imagine Napolean, leading Wellington, into Waterloo, for the Brussels train?
For some reason the Loco's were never named.........................
I had a better night, slept fairly late and feel much more alive today.
The recycling bin has been emptied! They came back this morning to do it. It paid to complain.
Di the aqua instructor came round earlier. We'd been emailing each other to see how we all were. She doesn't use a computer. I keep telling her she needs to learn. I mentioned that we had a glut of eggs, so she's picked some up. I didn't see her though, because she arrived while I was asleep. I'd just left the eggs on the porch wall.
YD has had another online tutorial this morning. She's found some ideas for her final project and will talk to the tutor again tomorrow. Chicken report: four eggs today, from Pearl, Lottie, Lilith and Griselda.
Glasses arrived today only just one pair, and they are the cheap Reading glasses that came with the very expensive main varifocals. I tried to ring but there is no one there so I emailed which was also a waste of time because the response was that as they were not working they couldn’t tell me when I would get a reply! £270 quid 😤🤬🤯
Your secrets are safe with me, I wasn't even listening

Hi again ... Gotta go - Limited hours of Bank, so I'd better raid it now. Postal collections also earlier than normal, and I have to buy and post a Birthday Card to Kid Sister - I think today might be a better shopping day than Saturday - I've seen the "10-feet-between-shoppers" queue
I've had to cross out almost everything on the calendar for the next few months. All that's left are birthdays and supermarket deliveries/collections. Even the (already delayed) boiler service and the repairs to OH's car have been cancelled. First of all the boot wouldn't lock, and now it will not open. Fortunately we can use my car on the few occasions we will have to collect shopping.
By staying online just after midnight I did manage to get a Click and Collect for 23rd at Tesco in Abingdon, so that's the next three weeks sorted, one Waitrose delivery and 2 Tesco C&C. I daren't change anything on the orders though in case the internet goes down and I lose the slots, so it's guesswork as to what we'll be needing by then.
Newbury farmers' market is still on next Sunday, but we'll not be going, because we only go if we're on our way to see FiL in Salisbury, and his care home is closed to visitors. OH had another email from the care home yesterday to say all is well, and they have plenty of gloves, hand sanitiser etc.
A large bag of bread flour has just arrived. I ordered it from a local mill a few weeks ago. Yeast isn't a problem at the moment, but I may have to make a sourdough starter at some point.
YD is having an online discussion today with her tutor about her Final Major Project.
Chicken report: three eggs, from Pearl, Lottie and Dottie.
Our milk was nicked off the doorstep this morning. Someone else's in town had theirs taken as well. Reported to police. Neighbour is looking through his cctv recording. Local dairy/deli brought us milk when she was delivering elsewhere. Order from butcher arrived and wine for Merman's birthday. So we are well supplied.
