Greetings from cool and changeable Oxfordshire.
The nurse-practitioner from FiL's doctor's practice has just phoned. FiL is in the care home, under sedation, being given a small amount of oxygen. He is unable to swallow, so is only having a small amount of water to keep him comfortable. We will not be going to see him because he would not be aware of us, and the risk of catching the virus is too high because there are now several confirmed Covid-19 patients at the home.

Now is the month of Maying.... Mum dies 35 years ago today, in Paris, just about her favourite city. This is the first year in which her name has not been mentioned at Mass. Every time I see the lily of the valley I think of her. "Muguet porte bonheur", but not for me. But on the positive side, it's another fine day and the Friday tasks are done.

Anyone losing days? Sometimes I really have to think what day it is.. If I try to remember what I did, say, on Tuesday, I just remember it’s what I did every other day 😂

This week has been clearer as to days as we've had assorted deliveries, one a day since Weds. Butcher today with their special offer of 3 of 6 items for £12. I ordered the lot. It'll keep up going for a good while. A dozen meals for us. All locally farmed.
Sunny but quite cold here. Hugs to all who need them.

Hello again.
YD has had the results from her last project, and has done very well, all things considered. Her tutor is pleased and has given some helpful hints for the future. He thinks she would have done even better had they been able to go into campus, use the equipment there and have help. She had a mixture of 1, 2i and 2ii, so is hovering between an upper second and a lower second.
My friend Di the aqua instructor came round for some eggs earlier and we had a socially-distanced chat. I also gave her a couple of the brownies I made on Wednesday. She loves them. Another friend should be here soon for her eggs. We still have 18!
Chicken report: three eggs today, from Lottie, Dottie and Griselda. There were 93 eggs last month, plus two broken ones.
Stay safe.

Afternoon villagers .
Been to the corner shop after work for essentials mainly eggs for making home made burgers for tonight's dinner to go with new potatoes and carrots.
On the bus home from work I passed a community centre that was obviously giving something out.
There was a queue of at least 30 people outside and not one of them was more than one metre from anyone else.
Used very little gas last month even with all the extra hot water for extra hand washing, will still keep topping up the same each month to build credit for winter

The nurse at FiL's care home has rung to say it will not be long, either today or tomorrow. FiL is in no discomfort as he's on morphine.
