When I was living in a school in France, we often had pike quenelles in tomato sauce. Very tasty.
I remeber an "eating out" where our gang sat around a Round table in a real Chinese (Chinese new year) in East London (Limehouse). 13 of us were VERY closely seated. I was next to a Left Handed Lady, so every time she lifted her chopsticks to her mouth She knocked my arm and spilled the food of off my chopsticks.. I didn't get much to eat that evening..
We eat out sometimes when visiting No2 Son in Bristol, where there are lots of places that do vegan food. But apart from that, it's really only on cruises that we "eat out" and enjoy different foods. I do try lots of different recipes at home, though.
The closest I get to eating out now is if I get a take away.
When I lived on the boat while moored in and around Chester once or twice a week i had dinner in the pub i was a regular at.
Also i would go to Sainsburys on a Friday night for a fish and chips
Before the current Lockout/Lockin/Lockup/Lockdown, I found Morrisons to be the Supermarket that made the best proper food in their Cafe... It Didn't alf annoy the supermarket I was working in when I went elsewhere to eat rather than use their canteen... although Currently/locally, and pre Lock in, Sainsbury had good fish ... but ran out of stock VERY quickly.
Made a beef stew at the weekend - ate some. froze some and kept some back to make pasties last night. (I cheat and use already cooked filling) - followed by strawberry blancmange. Simple meal but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lasagne looks good.
