Think of us in Wales - no hairdresser, no pub, no restaurant, but from tomorrow we can travel further than 5 miles and National Trust places, parks etc are opening π Being out and about atm isn't all it's cracked up to be. Coming from a key worker who's work is out in the open. It's really stressful trying to distance yourself from Covidiots

Morning, all! It's fine here, the wind has dropped a bit and I have washing in the machine.
I've just completed the reports booklet for the church's annual meeting. This should have been held in April, but will now be in September, for the obvious reasons. Collecting everyone's report can be tricky when all I can do is badger them via email, but I received the missing report this morning, so now once it has been proofread, I can print it.
There are some who, when asked for a report, will send it that day, and then there are the others...... Our new parish priest to be is meeting with the standing committee on Thursday, and we are going to discuss opening the church. As he has already done this in his present parish, he should be able to give us lots of good advice.

Greetings from cool and cloudy Oxfordshire.
I'm late in again, having overslept after a horrible night of a recurring nightmare, at least six times. I couldn't wake up properly. All I can recall of them is incredible sadness, and standing in a church, crying. Not very restful.
Nothing much happening here. OH has been mopping floors and I've been cleaning the bathroom. YD who had been up late comforting a friend online, and then slept late, is now doing more course work.
Chicken report: three eggs, from Griselda, Dottie and Lilith.
Stay safe.

Good morning villagers, from mild and bright Oxfordshire.
A quick check-in before we go to Faringdon farmers' market.
Chicken report: Pearl has laid a thin-shelled but unbroken egg this morning.
Back later.
Stay safe.

OH and I have returned from a successful trip to Faringdon farmers' market and Lechlade. There were more stalls this time and I thought there were a lot more people at the market, though I was told it was about the same as last month. I was late arriving then so missed them. We have stocked up with lamb, chicken, salad dressing, a giant double chocolate chip cookie for YD, smoked eel and trout, a pot of rocket from the plant stall, and organic vegetables. While I was chatting to people OH joined the long queue outside the post office. He sent the second lot of birthday presents to CK2 (M&S clothes). When we arrived home another M&S package had arrived, with a dress in it! I'd missed an item. That's another trip to the post office. I'll have to check first that there's no more of the order outstanding.
Since we were already much of the way to Lechlade we decided to go to an excellent coffee shop and bakery there where they make the best sourdough I've ever had. I bought two loaves, dropping one off to a market stallholder friend on the way back. Then one of the other traders saw the bread and decided to go to Lechlade when she'd packed up after the market. There is no longer a baker at Faringdon farmers' market though they are trying to get another one.
Chicken report No.2: two more eggs, from Lilith and Dottie.

Morning all! It's cloudy here but dry. No idea what today will bring - probably more preparing fruit and/or veg for the freezer. Rather tedious but it is lovely to have homegrown stuff in winter, so much tastier than shop bought.
Hoping that everyone has a decent day!

Did you leave anything for other shoppers at the Market CP? Sounds like a great place
Very wet here which is so very good for the garden and the farmers

Greetings, villagers, from mild, grey and a bit damp Oxfordshire. Wednesday's roast beef, according to The Scaffold, GLO: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyjUToEuMhQThere was still plenty for others at yesterday's market, Anna, though I did grab the last double chocolate chip cookie and the last bundle of broad beans. OH went for his walk early today because the forecast is less than brilliant this afternoon. YD is doing her live-stream in half an hour. I have received the template for my section of the Knitted Map of Ambridge. Do people remember that from about ten years ago? It's been found and some of us are trying to complete it. Auntie Social over at Angie's ML is co-ordinating it. I'm going to have a go at either knitting or crocheting the fields I've been given. A friend has just phoned. She's been shielding since lockdown but has now been sprung, and is so happy. Her OH has had their motor-home MOT'd and they are hoping to go away for a few days. My sister and family are enjoying Cornwall. They went to St Ives yesterday, and were going to Truro farmers market this morning and then on to St Michael's Mount. I'm still envious. Chicken report: two eggs, from Dottie and Lilith. Stay safe.

Scaffold? Monday or any other day is Something to be avoided - I remember a Crane and oodles of Scaffold collapsed - at An office I once worked in (Local Gove had other reasons to avoid the place). STAY AWAY - Just caught somewething on the radio of Another one inEast London has collapsed today,
Looks like the Subject of the Day is Markets... Are there any? Romford's Gone, Wickford (much delded recently) has gone, Bit of one at Chelmsford .... That one my The Cutty Sark has gone.... Norwich used to be a respectable one .... but I'm not going 50 miles to see the derelict remains of The Castle Market
Something on the News about That Nice Mr Boris is offering Cheap Meals in Public Cafes.. Anyone know wherabouts of that London one where Tame pussycats mingle with the Diners (they (the cats) must be a lot more tolerant than any moggy I've met as a Stranger..). Or ... Does it include Canteens - That one on the Top Floor of Lloyds Bank was good - anybody got a current pass?
Oh My mind is wandering - I'll have another "Lie-down".

Great to hear The Scaffold again. Not heard that one in absolute yonks! Made me smile π
Interesting shopping at Tesco today. The one way system has gone which has taken a lot of pressure off me anyway. Still social distancing of course but not so scary. I think, apart from staff, I was the only one wearing a mask π· but thatβs fine. Rains stopped

Hope you rested well last night and feel better today Steve. Weather here is very grey and damp although this is good for farmers here in the east where it has been so very dry.
Anyway, hope you have a good day today
