Yes Judith I thought that sounds wrong.
They don't just have to keep up with this new school year they have to catch up with what they missed from the past

Around here they have been having a staggered start, which apparently means that they are going in for a couple of days this week to get used to the new regimes etc, but they are all in full time next week. Not sure about secondary pupils.

Greetings, villagers, from mild and cloudy Oxfordshire.
It looks like rain, which is unfortunate because the window cleaners have just arrived. I've made them a pot of tea but once again have no cake or biscuits in the house. I hardly ever bake nowadays.
OH went for his swim this morning and will go for his daily walk this afternoon.
YD is working in her room. Less than two weeks until her course finishes and she can help more around the house. We're planning a blitz on her bedroom which is so full of stuff that it's no wonder she decamped to her sister's old room.
I'm going to make eggplant parmigiana and rhubarb crumble for dinner. Some beautiful aubergines and tomatoes arrived yesterday from the Isle of Wight.
Chicken report: Lottie has laid an egg.
There is now light drizzle.
Stay safe.

Good evening villagers.
I've had a long tiring day and am ready for bed.
On the bright side my away shirt a ordered from At Helens rugby League club has arrived

OH has had his ECG and a follow up consultation at the surgery, and the outcome is that everything is basically OK. The atrial fibrillation may stay or it may go, but it's nothing to worry about, just keep taking the tablets. We're having midweek wine to celebrate. I hadn't realised I was so wound up, but I felt quite weepy when OH phoned to say that all was well.
Had a long chat with No2 Son down in Bristol, who was hoping to celebrate his birthday with some friends, but now it seems that isn't going to happen. He's rather fed up.

I'm not really keeping up, here. I'll keep taking the tablets and see if real life is there in the morning.. or perhaps not.. Silly phonecall from doc to make appointments that I thought I already had... I'll face the world in the morn (with "fresh eyes", as my former, intelligent colleague used to say)

Why is my e-mail surrounded by adverts for Bitcoin? If the worlds total wealth is big enough to just be sitting there for the taking, , why would anybody be aiming it towards me.

Good morning, villagers, from cool and sunny Oxfordshire.
A frustrating morning here, trying and failing yet again to get into the Zoom coffee morning. I was told last week that the new link would work from then on. Yeah, right! I emailed/texted a couple of people who would be on there, the organiser JB and a friend JA, but no reply.
I had to re-register on the leisure centre website yesterday, in order to pay my membership and book aqua. The membership worked but I can't book aqua for Tuesday until 10pm tonight, only eight places were showing up last night, and only seven this morning. Di said there would be twenty. I hope full members do not get priority as I fear, or I'll never be able to book. I have a limited membership because I only go swimming, not to the gym or other classes. I bet all the places are gone by tonight.
OH has gone for his walk. YD is working in her room.
I'm having my hair cut this afternoon.
Chicken report: no eggs yet.
Stay safe.

Sad to hear that Dame Diana Rigg has died. Mrs Peel and also my favourite ever Bond Wife. RIP

Mrs. Gale, and Mrs. Peel, have both died recently - One cannot help but linking them together. Very sad.

It's a shame that Diana Rigg is always mentioned as either Emma Peel or Mrs James Bond. She was an excellent theatre actress too.

She was indeed Judithl. Just been watching her portrayal of Mrs Pumphrey in 5’s new adaptation of All Creatures Great & Small. A fine Actress
Sadly I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing her live but I m sure she was brilliant.
