Afternoon, villagers! A lovely warm day here. We've had rather a late lunch, because I had a standing committee at church, then we went up to No1 Son's allotment, first visit this year. He has a greenhouse full of tomatoes, lots of other veg growing outside, and some really beautiful dahlias. Coq au vin is now in the slow cooker ready for tonight's dinner.

Good morning from cool and sunny Oxfordshire. It's going to be hot later. It feels autumnal though, with condensation on the slightly open bedroom windows this morning.
A quick visit before the ladies of the craft group arrive at half past nine. We will at least be legal, there being a maximum of six of us. We've met outside at various houses until last time when we inadvertently broke the rules by being indoors. Trouble is the rules keep changing.
I've made zucchini bread and brownies for our refreshments. I just hope the milk arrives on time today because there's less than half a pint left, apart from long-life.
OH has gone for his swim. YD is still asleep.
Chicken report: no eggs yet. Only one yesterday, from Lottie.
Hagadapa.
ETA: The milk has arrived, and so have two of the ladies!

It's a beautiful day here, and I've just put a third load of washing into the machine, as what's on the line is drying so well. I have blitzed the rockery in the front garden, and removed a lot of snow in summer, which is a hooligan. OH is repairing part of the front porch, where the wood has rotted.

Glorious here as well. Almost too hot! sorting out a cupboard under the worktop which is partly in a corner and very difficult to get into. Anyone got a small child I can borrow to crawl in there? Otherwise, I'll continue to use my Dad's walking stick which has the perfect size hooked handle. A good old wooden one.
Enjoy the weather.

Don't waste a small child on that. He should be working up in chimney's

Hello again.
We had a lovely morning at craft group. More chatting than crafts, of course.
We're having what is probably our last BBQ this evening.
When picking runner beans just now I spotted some brown ovoid objects on the far side of the chicken wire surrounding the bean poles. No wonder we haven't had many eggs recently. Lottie had laid five under the hedge!

I have washed and dried three lots of washing, and ironed quite a lot of it too. It's warmer today than it was in August. OH has been replacing a rotten section of wood in the front porch. It has taken just about all day. I don't feel very well today, but it may be because of stuff happening elsewhere. I am prone to what my mother called "nervous stomach". On the positive side, I think one of the apple trees in No1 Son's allotment is a Kingston Black. I foresee cider making this autumn.

Good morning villagers.
Just a flying visit before starting work.
Got in from work so tired yesterday I fell asleep and ended up burning the pie for dinner

Hope you're feeling better today, Judith. Cider sounds good.
Been doing a lot of crochet lately - left hand feeling stiff. But I want to finish the blanket for my friend.
Have fun!

I've done that many a time, GLO. I've remembered to put it out on the line today. When I did, it was incredibly silent outside, no human noise, no bird noise, no animal noise. No wind so weather silent as well. Glad you're feeling better, Judith.

Greetings, villagers, from warm and sunny Oxfordshire.
It's very pleasant outside. OH has taken down the chicken wire from around the beanpoles so we can now investigate if any hens lay eggs under the hedge. OH has been round the garden and checked for more hidden nests but there aren't any. I've been picking runner and French beans, and tomatoes. Only four tomatoes have ripened so far. They are outdoor ones, so later than if we had a greenhouse.
It's my first aqua class in six months this evening. I am so looking forward to it.
Honey, our cat with IBS, seems to be putting on weight, thank goodness. Her appetite has improved and her coat is better.
Chicken report: two eggs, from Lilith and Dottie.
Stay safe.

I've picked windfall apples and done some cutting back and tidying up in the garden. OH is hammering something outside. I have no idea what.
