Good day Rosalind. There comes a sudden realisation of transferring from Mists and Mellow fruitfullness of a Autumn, into the shock of Early darkness, clock changes (due soon), and Short dull days. I should have got my Hibernation kit ready.
Greetings, villagers, from cool and bright Oxfordshire.
It's not yet been decided what to do with the Map, GLO. Any ideas? Suggestions so far have included: give it to the BBC, display it at Inkberrow church (the inspiration for St Stephen's in TA), take it round the country to Meets so as many people as possible can see it, take a photo of it and make it into a jigsaw, etc. There is still a lot of work to be done. Auntie Social is making a key panel to go in the incomplete corner, and will number significant buildings on the map. She also has all the name panels that people who contributed to the map made, which will go round the edges to finish it with a neat border. Only then will it be ready for display.
YD came up to me this morning and said she can't wait for her "freedom". She really wants to go out and about now, having been stuck indoors for most of the past several months finishing her degree coursework. I was relieved to hear this because as other MLers have mentioned it's not good for her to be indoors so much. She's writing up the final project now. It has to be submitted by 6pm on Friday 9th October. Then we wait to see what level of degree she gets.
OH has been for his walk.
I have aqua tonight and must remember to book for next Thursday's class at 10pm.
Chicken report: Dottie and Lilith have laid eggs. Griselda is looking pathetic, with pin feathers just starting to appear on her almost bald back, and with no tail feathers. At least she will have completed her moult before the weather turns cold.

Dont ask me, coockiepus. My Brainworks have a dud battery. I'd think more along the Lines of a Model railway through it ... but I'm afraisd there is no railway through Ambridge. The display is difficult, too. A glass cover would be wrong, but Keeping the dust off it would be a problem (how many times can a vacuum cleaner be used?). It will need protection from fade... Is there a Librasry or comunity hall that the local people can see it between Tours?
The sun is doing its best to put in an appearance here, after a rather cloudy start. Yesterday was lovely and warm in the afternoon. Shopping is done, unpacked and put away, now for the usual Friday housework. I will try to finish my dress today - at least the machine sewing thereof.
Greetings, villagers, from cool, breezy and very wet Oxfordshire. The wind has died down a lot from last night.
OH went for his swim this morning and for his daily walk after lunch, before the rain became really heavy.
I didn't expect to wake up to today's news from across the Pond. OH woke me when he returned from swimming and told me. I'm late in here because I've been messaging my US family and watching the BBC news. ED has been to the dentist this morning to have her wisdom teeth out. The top ones came out easily but she has had to be referred to an oral surgeon for the lower ones, which broke. She is feeling a bit sorry for herself now. Good news though - ED has set in her postal vote for the US election! It's taken me years to get her to register to vote.
YD is continuing with her written work. Her tutor is unwell again so no online discussion with him today. She'd suspected he was ill when she had no reply to her email a couple of days ago. He has chronic digestive problems that flare up sometimes, poor man.
YD's gaming evening is tonight rather than tomorrow because one of her friends couldn't make Saturday.
Chicken report: the hens are under the trampoline. Lottie has laid an egg.

Thats a bugger, Steve. Same here but for different reason - A hospital appointment but they want 14 days isolation prior to the final appoint (but before the final, I musr go for a Covid test - masked from home, to taxi, to hospital - and the reverse journey). No written appointments and they only phoned me on the first of the 14 days, so a very rushed and unplaned shopery during their evening hours. Right in the middle of the "No buses to bus station" period during the roadb rebuilding. I wanted to ask a neighbour to get me some food, but No face to face meeting so I wrote a note. My intention was to go to her letterbox in the evening where I would not meet anybody. Then I thought that it would not be good if I wass seen leaving her door (yes, she is young and pretty) an the dark, so I waited until this morning... and she was coming down her stairway from her flat, as I was going up to her 1st floor flat... I managed to keep her at a distance.
Second thought: have you been asked to take a Corvin test..
Have you found a food delivery? I don't know where you will make a contact in your area ... Here its Age concern (for my vintage) or Peebody - that have merged several different "Help" outfits.
But that’s good isn’t it? Of course, you mightn’t have it but then again! If we had had this earlier it might have made a real difference to the number of deaths.
Meanwhile, in the land of the free there are still those who refuse to wear a mask even though their President has the Virus. I heard also that a number of his staff and other Republican Senators has also tested positive, proving that the virus is indiscriminate. Thankfully Joe Biden tested negative and continues to advocate mask wearing and social distancing.
Your secrets are safe with me, I wasn't even listening
