Greetings, villagers, from cool, grey, windy and wet Oxfordshire.
White rabbits.
I'm feeling down today. I'm usually an optimist but not at the moment. OH is worried about me. The last straw was reading that swimming pools and hairdressers have to close again. It's exactly the same situation as in April. Little things in the greater scheme but frustrating. I'm mid-way between haircuts and was due to have the colour put in next time. Our PM may go around looking as if he's cut his own hair with the kitchen scissors but I like to look neat. Aqua only started again in mid-September. I've booked for both sessions next week but will only get Tuesday's one now. How on earth the lady who uses a wheelchair and the three or four regulars who use walking aids are going to get their exercise, heaven only knows. They certainly can't go out for walks. The leisure centre and the hairdresser have all their safety precautions in place. What really annoyed me was seeing on the BBC website that the police are having trouble breaking up an illegal rave in Bristol. That's the sort of thing that is causing a lot of the rise in infections.
I've somehow managed to pull a muscle in my right shoulder, which has not improved my mood. It was difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position last night. OH left me to sleep late. He has been cleaning the inside of the downstairs windows, and is about to do the upstairs ones. I wish he'd told me last night because there are still fly killer stickers on most of the windows and he didn't know I was about to take them down. There will now be sticky patches on those otherwise clean windows.
YD had her games evening last night. She and her friends played a Halloween style game.
I have to finish the crocheted flower hair slides for the hairdresser's little girl. There's only one pair to do now, but I have to get them to her before they have to shut down. She's not my hairdresser but a colleague who lives in Witney. She wants the slides to go in a refillable Advent calendar.
I need to remember to take the Christmas cakes to my hygienist at the dentist's in Faringdon on Tuesday, in case they close down again. I'm not sure if they have to this time. YD is due to see the optician soon and we don't know if they will be open either.
The Cookiekittens had a Halloween party at YS's house yesterday. They had a great time even without going trick-or-treating: tinyurl.com/y35x7j8u

I must go and prepare tonight's dinner. We're having mutton, which takes a bit longer to cook than lamb.
Chicken report: Griselda and Lilith have laid eggs.
Stay safe.
