Hi.,Cookiepus. Yup, there are fewer Posts nowadays ... I wonder if we are not doing enough to write about..? I don't know of any Farmers Markets herabout. In fact, Even Common or Garden Markets seem to have dissolved into nothingness.

It's another lovely sunny day, I've done the usual Wednesday shopping, and have prepared for our PCC this afternoon. I'll go into town early and take the chance to go to the bank and buy one or two things in the Grainger Market, from shops that will be closed tomorrow.
The supermarket was busier than usual today, but not really crowded. Queues at checkouts, though.

Hi.,Cookiepus. Yup, there are fewer Posts nowadays ... I wonder if we are not doing enough to write about..? I don't know of any Farmers Markets herabout. In fact, Even Common or Garden Markets seem to have dissolved into nothingness. Greetings from Deepest Oxfordshire. What a lovely sunny day we had here. It warmed up later, after we had our first frost of the season. GLO, I do try to write something every day, though whether it's interesting is debatable. I was up until stupid o'clock trying to finish the Knitted Map of Ambridge, but had to give up and go to bed because I had to get up early to have my hair coloured and cut at nine o'clock. I took the Map with me and almost finished it while waiting for the hair dye to take. There was only one stretch of hedge to do when I got home. Then it was a case of rolling the Map back up in its (quickly ironed) backing, and tidying the pins and leftover yarn away into a bag. Marie has left a couple of muddy paw prints on the backing. I hope they will brush off, but they can be hidden easily. Anyway, my work is done! Over to Auntie Social now, who came and collected the Map this afternoon. More than 40 people helped to make the Map. If anyone hasn't sent in their name panel please do so as soon as possible! scontent.flhr2-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/123790322_10159004246344673_4499539845386502020_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=2&_nc_sid=110474&_nc_ohc=2uie6L9cH4QAX8lUGPz&_nc_oc=AQnMGC57XNo0CyBpE2QbYf8lEQg4Eb90ckKgFp6o-TTllTISRw0d_fv-S7BYjZjbbhI&_nc_ht=scontent.flhr2-1.fna&oh=5943e45c1425020b34e0b0a7f8f8c72b&oe=5FC7140Dscontent.flhr2-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/123806962_10159004246449673_5921560555848391547_n.jpg?_nc_cat=110&ccb=2&_nc_sid=110474&_nc_ohc=vrI4sehOg54AX_0T-gI&_nc_ht=scontent.flhr2-2.fna&oh=94641068477a3b394b9722a2402ac925&oe=5FC8753Ascontent.flhr2-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/123910416_10159004246364673_4501401750628435063_n.jpg?_nc_cat=110&ccb=2&_nc_sid=110474&_nc_ohc=WOthgwuyMoAAX9-LJEJ&_nc_ht=scontent.flhr2-2.fna&oh=3d5c9cdfc5ad8297909e22746e7af5c1&oe=5FC79850scontent.flhr2-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/123768507_10159004246419673_7247028732145268091_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&ccb=2&_nc_sid=110474&_nc_ohc=tZZ29DIsnX8AX_To17D&_nc_ht=scontent.flhr2-2.fna&oh=827a9380389bd1fc52a49841d5d021fe&oe=5FC7A77EThe whole map. I had to stand on a chair to take the photo: scontent.flhr2-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/123905289_10159004246459673_8115012841266226977_n.jpg?_nc_cat=106&ccb=2&_nc_sid=110474&_nc_ohc=YIhvzbJIxdMAX_iXJ16&_nc_ht=scontent.flhr2-1.fna&oh=bd81db9fd82d5b81e4d4bb8d10df9410&oe=5FC70FFDI was so tired that I fell asleep on the sofa for more than two hours, waking up just before five o'clock. OH had been doing some dusting upstairs so as not to wake YD and me. YD had also been awake half the night watching the US election coverage. She is still asleep now. OH went for his last swim this morning before the pool closes, and stayed for a chat with his friend and former colleague. Jasper is definitely much better. He caught and ate a mouse today, leaving the insides in the hallway for OH to find and clear up. The window cleaners arrived this afternoon. How did they know I'd baked some of my gluten-free brownies? One of them took a couple home to enjoy later. Chicken report: Griselda laid an egg today. There was another chicken explosion this morning. This time Lottie is moulting. Stay safe.

The Ambridge Map is really beautiful!
Our PCC went well, and didn't take too long either.

Our Birthday Meal for Eldest Son was very good. Younger son and I had Belly Pork (delicious). Husband had Venison and ES went for Lamb. The country Pub we went to was socially distanced packed as I guess people were making the most of a last meal out for a while.
Though it would have been nice to have DiL & Grandsons there too we would have been over the 6. I might have been over the 8 🤤 but not really.
Only our second meal out this year and we all had a good time

Greetings, villagers, from cool and mostly sunny Oxfordshire.
Glad you all had a good time, Anna.
After not having much sleep the night before last, I slept almost round the clock, even after having a two hour nap on the sofa in the afternoon. I feel much better now.
Today is a quiet day. I have three parcels to pack to go to the USA. Now we're in lockdown again I have no excuse not to tidy my crafts and sort out the wardrobe.
OH has gone for his walk. YD has finished one of two commissions for her art work and is starting another.
Chicken report: two eggs, from Griselda and Dottie. Lottie is moulting all over the garden. The window cleaners left the gate to the back garden open yesterday and Auntie Social saw some of the chickens in the gateway. I forgot to shut the gate after Auntie Social had left, so we had five escapees who had great fun searching for bugs in the fallen leaves by the sides of the driveway, until they were rounded up by OH. This morning Pearl, our slimmest and brightest hen, realised that she can fit through a gap in the gate, and has been found scratching happily in a pile of leaves - twice!
Stay safe.

I have finally managed, at the fourth attempt, to knit part of the Norwegian pattern on the second sleeve of a sweater. I've knitted front, back, and t'other sleeve with no trouble, but kept going wrong on this one. It's been a fine but rather chilly day here, and I have lit the fire now in the living room.

Damn. You have reminded me to fit new Leccy blanket on to bed... I tried earlier but I had trouble removing My Great Big Ginger cat: HE knows which of us is in charge.

Hi villagers
I've not been in much of late mostly because I've not had a good two or three weeks arriving home from work soaking wet as we've had a lot of héavy rain.
In reply to Merms it would be a shame if this board went as it is the friendliest and less confrontational of the verious ML related boards even when discussing politics.
Right I have news you are all aware of what happened when I applied for the early retirement when work where looking to cut jobs and the enhanced payoff which was basically my full pension plus 53 weeks redundancy pay and the appeal I put in and lost after being turned down.
You might also remember I was considering just taking my normal works pension .
Well after careful consideration I have made my decision.
I'm taking my pension on my birthday next year even if it does mean my last working day will be on a Friday 13th lol

Life is complicated, Steve... I have no idea if there is ever a simple decision. I can think of my various work decisions .... Some were right, Some were wrong.

Greetings, villagers, from cool and bright Oxfordshire. The sun keeps trying to come out. I stayed up way too late, fascinated by the meltdown across the Pond. OH collected a prescription for YD this morning and then went for his walk. He's now picking what will probably be the last of the runner beans. We've only had one frost so far but it's just a matter of time. Some of YD's drawings for her role playing game: tinyurl.com/y3vaag4e tinyurl.com/y2yyhhe4tinyurl.com/y4l66bmztinyurl.com/yxbzchzctinyurl.com/y46pggd8tinyurl.com/yyc882pwNothing much is planned for today. Eggplant parmigiana for dinner. I must make some bread too. Chicken report: Dottie has laid an egg. Stay safe.

Hello again. Lottie: tinyurl.com/yyjs43yxHer chicken explosion looks like snow: tinyurl.com/y6k9hnpk She has hardly any black and white neck feathers now. tinyurl.com/y3nmadhwThe hens: tinyurl.com/yy2w2rqu You can just see Pearl's (L) one remaining tatty tail feather. Her feathers are growing again. I went for a walk around the area this afternoon and met (socially distanced) several neighbours, one couple PW and SW walking home from their daughter's, my NDN JS bringing her GD home from school and Count Tolstoy walking his little terrier. It was lovely to chat with my WI friends. I hadn't seen them for months. I've promised SW some red DK yarn because she's making striped scarves for her GSs and had run out of red. After I got home I took some mini Mars Bars round to the little girl next door because she missed out on trick or treating. On my walk I took some photos of autumn leaves, berries, late flowers and sheep in a field. tinyurl.com/y5waegmltinyurl.com/yyt5jqeqtinyurl.com/y3hd6dw4tinyurl.com/y5juv68ltinyurl.com/y6oduewytinyurl.com/y532q3ujtinyurl.com/y4g4vzeyDinner is smelling good, as is the freshly baked bread. I'm amazed that YD has not yet gravitated to the kitchen. She loves fresh bread. I had an email from Asda - they have opened their Christmas delivery slots. The email came at 4.22pm. By the time I saw it an hour or so later the latest time I could book was 7-9pm on Sunday 20th December, so if anyone uses Asda spaces are going fast!

A very foggy day here, for most of the day. Quite warm, though. I made coq au vin for dinner tonight. Really long phone conversation with No2 Son today - two and a half hours. He's in good spirits and is able to be in a bubble with a friend and wife, so if he can't get home for Christmas, he won't be alone, which is one load off my mind.

Loved all YD’s drawings CP. very talented artwork.
Also love the Chickens. Wish I had room for a couple. Growing up on a smallholding we had Dairy cows, pigs & chickens. My job was to collect the eggs which was fine unless the hen was ‘sitting’ in which case I was too scared to put my hand under her for the egg. I wouldn’t be frightened now but the reason I was then was because my brother told me the hen would peck my eyes out. Nice! 😂
