A Sheeps "Maternity Field, and a Sheep Nursery field being adjacent to the House... How can one get tired when doing nothing??? I'm off for tonight .... Goodnight each.

It's never been a B&B as far as I know but I'll ask my friend who lived there.

Morning. Dull and cold. Day to snuggle in and knit. Keep smiling!

Over the last couple of days I have done the Christmas cake, Christmas pudding, homemade mincemeat and a lemon meringue pie!

Greetings, villagers, from cool and bright Oxfordshire. I stayed up too late again hoping to hear news from the USA, and then couldn't sleep properly until quite late. OH left me in bed and started on his weekend jobs of cleaning the cars and the Eglu. He's now cutting the grass. I am feeling a bit guilty. My friend came to pick up the red yarn I'd promised and I wasn't awake. The laptop has been playing up and I've had to reboot it twice, making me even later in here. Another quick drawing by YD of her role play character when younger: tinyurl.com/y3rkpygsA logo for a friend of hers "Beedrasil" based on Yggdrasil : tinyurl.com/y2zjxtqqChicken report: two eggs, from Griselda and Dottie. Stay safe.

Yup. It was Cat and Doggy here last night... Not certain if it was Mist or Firework Smoke .... There were a Lot of Fireworks all week - Obviously there was a lot of money about (until last night??).

Greetings, villagers, from cool, grey and damp Oxfordshire.
I had a couple of glasses of wine last night to celebrate the events across the Pond. DiL2 said she'd been drinking mimosas (like buck's fizz).
A quiet day is planned. Looking at the weather I'm glad we got outdoor things done yesterday. OH had cleaned the Eglu, washed the cars and cut the grass (probably for the last time this year). I'd done some pruning and clearing.
Chicken report: the hens are under the trampoline hiding from the rain. Griselda has laid an egg.
Stay safe.

I've got a vision of hens and eggs bouncing on the trampoline.

After a few unseasonal warm days it is now raining and miserable. I at last heard from the Plasterer to say he can come this week to do my ceilings! Only been waiting since February but I am sure it will be worth it. When that’s done I can get the painting and decorating sorted although will have to wait for plaster to dry.
I am wondering too if I should get my kitchen tiled as when I had it put in I went for a wall paint. Beginning to regret this as walls not so easy to keep clean.
Just wanted to add that Joe Biden HAS made America Great Again! And there is an interview with Joe by the late David Frost on BBC Sounds circa 1980’s on another Run & he seems such a straightforward honest man. I do recommend it and it’s just a short version.
I don’t know how calm it’s going to be in the USA as the vote was pretty tight but I am reminded of how tight the Brexit vote was and how I felt about that so have some sympathy. I don’t believe anyone called the Leave Vote a Fraud though

It's quite warm here, unseasonably so, and in a hopeful fashion, I have put some washing on the line. Whether it will dry is in the lap of the weather gods. I'm almost finished knitting the sweater I started ages ago, but it will take some time to stitch in all the ends that result from knitting a pattern using three colours.
Very good news about the vaccine, though.

Greetings, villagers, from cool and rainy Oxfordshire. The weather forecast says there's a chance of thundery showers!
I was woken earlier than I would have liked, by a phone call from the dentist. I have an appointment at 2.30 (!) tomorrow afternoon with the hygienist. They wanted to run through the Covid questions beforehand.
OH has cleaned the hallway floor where one of the cats had dismembered some kind of small rodent.
Chicken report: Dottie has laid an egg. When I went to check on the hens last night the rain had stopped but the grass was still very wet. Four of the five hens were locked out of the Eglu because they had stayed under the trampoline until too late. Pearl was in and settled already, Lottie, Lilith and Griselda were in the run and standing on the Eglu steps, but Dottie was on the other side of the garden by the kitchen window. She came strolling across after I'd opened the door to let the others in, but she wouldn’t go into the run. I had to catch her by the tail and she made such a racket that YD stuck her head out of her bedroom window thinking that there was a fox in the garden! I was trying to catch Dottie one-handed because I was holding the torch in the other hand as it was pitch black by then. Having succeeded in shoving Dottie into the run and shutting it some of the other hens had come out of the Eglu. Most went indoors but I had to poke Griselda with a fennel stalk I'd cut when pruning earlier to make her go in again. They all settled down eventually.
Stay safe.

This year just carries on being horrible. I was on FB messaging ED, DiL1 and DiL2, telling them to expect their Christmas parcels, when ED told me DiL1 has gone into hospital again. She had a gall bladder operation last week but started having pain again. They have found a stomach ulcer and she may have other problems from the gall bladder as well. She's on morphine. ES is with her. Her mum is on the way. ED has CK5 and is picking CK3 up from school. YS and DiL2 are on standby.
OH is sorting out dinner, bless him. It was only going to be leftovers anyway, but he's taken over while I'm on FB and waiting for news.
