Thanks Coockipuss. I shall try find a map. I know The place that I stayed was under the flight path of Brize Norton. Landlady vould tell which aircraft was a VC10 arriving by the sound overhead. No view from the Breakfast room on that flightline.

Greetings, villagers, from mild and bright Oxfordshire. The sun keeps trying to come out.
DiL1 messaged me last night to say the doctors had found and treated a stomach ulcer and she had gone home, only to have to return because of more pain, in her lower abdomen this time. The previous pain was in her chest. They have not been able to find out what is wrong. She was staying in overnight having medication to control the pain. Her CT scan, ultrasound, bloods, ECG and chest x-ray were all normal. She is also Covid-negative. A complete mystery.
I have had a letter from the NHS asking if I’d be willing to take part in a Covid study. I have signed up. It involves a swab test which will be sent to me, and collected later by courier.
I’m going to the dentist later for an appointment with the hygienist.
Chicken report: Lottie has laid an egg. Four hens were again locked out of the Eglu, the same as yesterday. Pearl was in bed. OH shut them in with no problems from Dottie this time. They all came running when he went out with a torch and switched the light on in the Eglu.
Stay safe.

Sorry that you haven't had more positive news of DiL, Cookie.
Washing is on the line, more in hope than expectation.
Work on sewing up my new sweater continues.

Well, most of the washing did dry on the line.
And I am making progress with the sweater.

Cookiepuss
I note your letter from Doc about being invited to report Your existence during The Period of Covid. I got a Text from my GP asking me to do a similar trial, and get details and enrolment from Comuter contact... I found and copied the e-mail. It gives details but no address to apply to?

Hello again.
DiL1 has been in a lot of pain today. She had another scan this evening and has just been taken into surgery again. It may be the bile duct is leaking in spite of two clamps. There is a lot of fluid in the abdomen.
Let's hope they find what is wrong and can put it right. We are all very concerned.

Greetings, villagers, from mild and overcast Oxfordshire.
Good news about DiL1. They found the problem, which was a leak from the bile duct, clamped it, flushed out the bile and put a drain in for anything left. She was tired and in a bit of post-op pain, but planned on getting some sleep. I'm sure the whole family got some sleep after all that worry. I certainly did.
OH has been for his walk this morning before the weather deteriorates.
I'm going to clean some kitchen cupboards. We seem to have an influx of tiny flour beetles, and I have no idea where they are coming from. All flour is stored in airtight containers.
Chicken report: two eggs, from Griselda and Dottie.
Stay safe.

I have just spent the best part of two hours struggling with collection, delivery and customs forms for the three parcels to go to the USA. I had to do three separate orders because the addresses are different. Any errors and the form reverted to the first page. The only cookie seemed to be the one with weight and dimensions so it meant inputting details every time I made an error or had to go back a page. Five copies of one form arrived for two of the parcels and none for the other one. Some arrived after I'd sealed two of the clear address envelopes so they had to be ripped open. Now I'm worried that I haven't signed them all, even though I deliberately did them one at a time so they wouldn't be mixed up. OH was helping because I was getting so frazzled, and mixed two up! Luckily there was a tracking number on each of them and we could sort them out.
DiL1 has messaged to say she hopes it's only one more night in hospital and she can go home tomorrow. The children haven't been allowed to see her because of Covid restrictions at the hospital, and she's missing them.

Good morning, villagers, from cool and sunny Oxfordshire.
I'm hardly ever up this early, but I woke up several times worrying whether I had signed the customs forms that got muddled last night. I was awake when OH got up. He went downstairs, opened the plastic sleeves (one at a time!) and indeed I had only signed the form for ED's parcel! The others have now been signed and replaced in their sleeves. Probably nobody would even look at the forms, but the idea that the parcel(s) could be returned, or worse vanish, for want of a signature filled me with dismay. This is UPS, which I didn't use last time, but it was the least expensive option on this occasion. Each company has different rules, and forms to fill in. So now I'm wide awake and have had a pain au chocolat and some orange juice. OH has just brought me a cup of tea. I hardly ever have breakfast.
Now I'm up I'll try to log in to the Zoom coffee morning later. I've asked JB for the link again because it didn't work last time.
Back later.
Stay safe.

It all happens at once, CP. Sunny here - towels will go out on the line. Exciting things like vacuuming and putting out recycling. I've joined this. www.justgiving.com/campaign/MysteryknitalongPeople are posting on FB and it's so interesting to see what other people make. Have fun!

But I Do remember my Ol' scoolteach (Mr Coxon, Dycorts Junior) Telling us that the Boys should learn knitting: Scott of the artic had to learn to knit - just imaging being away for months; (years) at a time and having worn out socks and no may to replace them... Seemed to me thatm unless He also had a Sheep, a pair of ones favourite knitting needles was'n much help.

No2 Son learnt to knit and made a sweater for himself, and many years later, a scarf for his girlfriend. The former bishop of Leicester was a keen knitter, and wrote a book on the history of knitting. A lovely fine day here, and the washing has dried well.

Hello again.
The parcels were picked up about half an hour after I posted here. I managed to log into the Zoom coffee morning. I was so tired later that I went to lie down and fell asleep for two hours. So much for having a couple of extra hours after getting up early. My friend JA who was at the coffee morning has just brought round a birthday card she'd made for me to give to YD on 23rd. I've given JA half a dozen eggs. Her OH will be thrilled. He loves our hens' eggs.
Chicken report: Griselda has laid an egg.
