So sorry to hear that news Judith.
Had to go to the main yard for a meeting today.
The meeting was actually interesting and sort of Covid related.
Because there where very few places we could go in the summer hardly anyone took holidays so now they want as many as possible to take their holidays over Christmas and mid January plus February.
The problem being rather than people spreading them over the year they have so many left that there would be 80% all trying to use holidays off in March.
The other thing is people who where shielding obviously didn't use their holidays either.
The other thing that's being allowed is where we are usually allowed to carry five days over to the following year this year we are allowed to carry ten days over.
Also something happened the manager who told us all this is the same one who turned me down for the early retirement.
When he walked in he had to walk passed me looked at me and said good morning Steve, I didn't just blank him I turned my back to him it was noticed by the lads as well.
Also we got told that we are getting a £100 Christmas bonus for working through the pandemic most likely in the form of shopping voucher's rather than cash but that's ok I need a new microwave oven lol.
Although we're not likely to get them until late January or March.

Sad news, Judith. Hard to imagine how they feel.
Your market exploits sound good, CP. Makes me laugh that you still talk about your Tardis Trolley.
Last medical appointment for now today with the nurse to checked me over and tickled my feet. Last one will be on 30th when another nurse will phone me to tell me the results of the blood test I had a couple of weeks ago.
Sleep well.

Just Catching up...
Sorry to read Judith's Sad news.
The "Tier Three" becane effected this week, and the Towns Dept Store is in its "Grand closing down" to co-incide with Chrissy sales .... If it is still open at all. Oh I hate this time of year. I'll venture out to buy a few cards, but I'd better get some food in to avoid venturing out until after Chrismass.

Greetings, villagers, from cool and changeable Oxfordshire. We had brilliant sunshine this morning, but just as I was about to leave Deddington farmers' market at about noon the wind sprang up, lots of signs were blown over and the heavens opened.
I have given out a lot of felt Christmas tree decorations to the stallholders. It was lovely to see Mariella again, the Italian baker who makes wonderful torrone, pan forte and other goodies. We exchanged presents. I have slices of raspberry and lemon cheesecake with macarons and chocolate cheesecake, mushrooms, another Yule log, mince pies, mincemeat, pickles and lots more. There was no mistletoe at this market either, unfortunately, so we'll have to make do with the plastic mistletoe.
We found out this morning that Jasper, aka Asbo, the very naughty cat, had tried to gnaw his way into the box containing yesterday's chocolate buttercream Yule log. Thank goodness he didn't manage it. A trip to the vet would have really messed up today's plans. He had chewed a whole corner off the box but was disturbed when OH came downstairs. The Yule logs are now hidden away out of Jasper's reach. That cat is a walking stomach. He had a bad start in life and has a food fixation surpassing that of any other cat I've known.
After lunch I was about to come in here when there was a knock on the door. It was my friend JA, in a bit of a state, nervous and constantly twiddling her thumbs. She has a protective OH because of health issues, and she has hardly seen anyone for weeks, ever since the craft group had to close again. She said she keeps wanting to cry. I decided this was an occasion to have her come in for a chat, for reasons of mental well-being. YD was in her room and OH was outside cleaning the Eglu. JA has been making cards to keep herself occupied, and has over 250 now, but we still have no craft fairs to go to for the time being. After chatting for a couple of hours while sorting through of some of my craft supplies that I still hadn't taken upstairs again, she had relaxed enough to walk home again, with some ricrac, small beads and pompom trim for her cards, and some chocolate and hazelnut torrone. This d*** pandemic is playing havoc with all our lives.
Chicken report: Lilith laid an egg today. All the hens went to bed on time this evening, only Dottie was locked out yesterday. Maybe they are learning (though we doubt it).
Stay safe.

You're telling me it's playing havoc. We have just learned from the BBC News website that middle tedlet, who lives in Watford (new tier 4) won't be able to come home for Christmas. She was only able to make 10pm Christmas Eve, after work, until Boxing Day after lunch as it was because of work. I can't bear the thought of her sitting alone in her room all day - no presents either as they're all here.😭😭

The decision is so late in the day too. My friend is on her own too as she can't go to her daughters' house. Oh I am so heartily sick of this virus ☹

Morning, villagers. Well, I dunno (sigh). On Friday I'd gone and bought my rail tickets and presents, and now I'm wondering if they'll all be wasted. It wasn't as if it was going to be a big gathering either -- just me and one other who, like me, lives alone.

It was so cruel to leave the decision so late. Better had it been made a couple of weeks ago so people had time to make appropriate plans rather than change it all with less than a week to go. It won't make any difference to us as we were staying put anyway. But awful for those who had plans. You're a kind person, CP. xxx Better go and put away the Sains delivery that's just come.
Hope you've got sun as we have. Washing actually out on line.

Greetings, villagers, from cool and sunny Oxfordshire.
What rotten luck, Rosalie.
A quiet day here, tidying up my craft supplies now that I've finished making things for the market traders. I just have one felt Brussels sprout to make for our own tree, YD having given the prototype away to one of her friends. I do sometimes keep the first one of any design - if I remember!
ED messaged me on Facebook last night. The last Christmas parcel arrived safely yesterday. It was the one with Wensleydale and cheddar cheese. YS has laid claim to some of the cheddar (his family don't care for Wensleydale) and ES would like some of both. I told ED to make sure she had what she wanted first! Her brothers are very much cheese fans, especially YS.
Chicken report: two eggs, from Dottie and Lilith.
Stay safe.
