I've always loved this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0aL9rKJPr4In the bleak mid-winter Frosty wind made moan; Earth stood hard as iron, Water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, Snow on snow, In the bleak mid-winter Long ago. And Christina Rossetti herself in one of my favourite paintings

That's lovely, and it's my favourite, the Holst tune, not the Darke one.

That's lovely, and it's my favourite, the Holst tune, not the Darke one. Same here. Back in the church-choiring days we more often than not did the Darke one. As an alto it wasn't the most interesting tune to sing.

If you want to suggest a date for me merms Just leap in Steve I've always loved this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0aL9rKJPr4In the bleak mid-winter Frosty wind made moan; Earth stood hard as iron, Water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, Snow on snow, In the bleak mid-winter Long ago. Me too. I´ve loved it since I was a child singing it in Christmas carol concerts at school. It´s so atmospheric and beautifully melancholic.

Me 3! Some people say the melody is too maudlin but I love it, always have. My actual favourite Carol . Thank you 😊

Me 3! Some people say the melody is too maudlin but I love it, always have. My actual favourite Carol . Thank you 😊 I can't agree with them, for words of bitter, biting cold, as the Earth beds down for its winter rest, I think it's the perfect tune. Not that there's much bitter biting cold here. Just seen next years crocus coming up!
