Hot here now, too hot to do essential work on the back of the property.

I forgot you are not far from me Welshteddy. Can just smell the smoke again. We can't smell it at all now, and couldn't yesterday. When it first started the smell was very strong and then I think the wind shifted and it was going out towards Ruabon and Wrexham. Then we could see clouds of smoke but no smell. Those poor firefighters. It must be boiling for them!

Not seen any postings of our friend Sequoia for a few days. I hope she is well and away from the fires now. The news says the area of Northern Calif. in flames or embers, is now greater in area than LA. Fire-fighters from New Zealand are amongst the most recent to turn up to help.
I think CA needs rain much more than we do.

It's so scary!! The fire near us is apparently 'mostly out' though we have smelled smoke off and on all day.The fire people said that 1 fire engine is remaining to dampen down any outbreaks from hot spots of fire that is burning underground and that it could reignite. Ours has covered about 700 acres I think but I understand that the California ones cover 200,000 acres which makes ours, even though it's been burning for 4 weeks, look pretty pathetic 😨😨

We've had the small (in comparison) mountain moor blazes which we get every summer, when the schools are out. But they're nothing compared with Calif. Or with Greece and Portugal, in Europe.

Hello. Anyone here? Thought I'd pop in for a quick cool down, an iced drink, and a chat. I guess you've all cooled down where you are.
Ironically, while the smoke from the fires was thick here in Lake County, the temperature dropped about 15 degrees. Now the sun is shining again, we're back to 3 digits.
Ah, well, at least the sun sets sooner now, and we get to cool down for the evening.

As OW says, Sequoia.
Coverage of your wildfires, has been pushed to the back burner here in Europe, by other things. Hope your home is well clear of any remaining fires, now.

It's cool here an all. Added 2 blankets over the last couple of nights to the sheet and thin bedspread we have.
I'll sort out somewhere warm for us for the winter.

I'm thinking of changing the use of this Cool Room, for the winter. I thought maybe two of these saunas... One for females. One for Polar Bears.

You can think as much as you like, Bear.
But this remains as the Cool Area. We have the space under the aga for the winter.
HW - keep skating.
