Never thought of that, but I know that "Every-Little-Helps" never used The Hovis Brand in their "in-shop" Bakeries. Branded bread was "Plant Bread".
One of our Local Baker's Bakery/shop/tea-shops, Grouts - now retired to his daughter and S-I-L - had a complaint made to council and police. The advert in one of his shops referred to HIS French Bread. "Real Bread, none of that French Rubbish". He became accused of racism...

You can make your own Hovis in a bread machine at home, these days. You can even fiddle with the recipe and improve it beyond all recognition.

I like spelt. In bread, cereals, cake. I find it's more easily digestible than ordinary wheat flour so use a mixture.

I don't use any of the standard recipes that came with the originalbread-machine recipe book. In fact I don't even know where that is.
I quite like baking bread and am always happy to try recipe changes and tips. That's where I got the green banana tip.
