Thank you so much Mermaid.
Is it all right if I leave my sewing machine out here? And my scissors?
Oh and my workbox which is full of U F Os.
Argh Don't look in there too many projects started and not finished. I have one in there I started just before the Millennium, called appropriately enough the Millennium Angel maybe one day I will get around to it. <sigh>
so much beautiful fabric, thread, yarn so little time.........

So much yarn.... not enough hours in the day.
I was going to be noble and domestic today but I've got a very painful back. It does this every so often, at the base of my spine. Taken ibuprofen and rubbed in arnica so while that all takes effect, I think I need to take it easy. I've got a tea cosy to finish.

I have been knitting today.
Gosh I am so slow.
I am knitting a cardigan in an acylic/cotton mix which is quite nice to handle but I seem to knit several rows and rip out a few as well. I was supposed to be a long sleeved cardi but I want to make it short (very short) sleeved almost a gilet type. Ah well I shall probably get it finished in time for NEXT year's exhibition in June 2018.
i feel a quilt coming on too.

I intended to have a go at quilting when I retired. 12 years since I finished work and I'm still intending.
Been sewing ears on mice today.
Is the knitting a complicated pattern?

No it is a straight forward pattern. Knit a row purl a row.
A back, 2 sides and 2 sleeves. No buttonholes of buttons ( cos I don't like buttons).
I can't do complicated.

Just discovered i have made yet another mistake in my knitting. <sigh>
For heaven's sake it is only and knit a row purl a row pattern I is not complicated, yet I have made another hole. Dropped stitch which I can't seem to repair,so I shall have to unknit several rows.
I givvup.........again.

Ok, Dapply. Use a sewing needle and yarn to secure the dropped stitch. Carry on knitting and increase over the dropped stitch so you have the right number.
Do this whenever you go wrong.
When the cardi is finished, sew a crocheted flower, a button, embroider something over each mistake. And add some where there aren't mistakes.
Hey presto, a wonderful, unique cardi.

My principle is that if I make mistakes, I make them into features and people then say, "Oh, how clever!"

Now y'see I know i couldn't make anything like as complicated as that.
My mum used to knit, and be able to carry on a conversation and watch the tv and knit really complicated things and she never seemed to look at what she was doing, and her fingers seemed to flow.
I can't do that. She used to say that I knitted like a schoolgirl and that was why I was slow. but Ihave tried to knit like her, it ended in a mess.....and copious tears.
I wish she was still here; I could hand this flippin cardi over to her and it would be done within a week, beautifully. Ah well
