I'm a fan of the daily brainteaser on BBC R4's Today programme. Is anybody else?
Classification of puzzle/brainteaser type:
CC = Codes or Ciphers
MM = Mathematics.
LL = Logic.
OO = Other.
I shall add CC/MM/LL/OO to identify the type of puzzle, perhaps those of you posting a brainteaser/puzzle on here. Could follow the same.

CC. A nice easy one to start then.
S is 3 x 1 O is 3 x 2 M is 2 x 2 E is 1 x 1
What is H ?
(You don't need a knowledge of math's to solve this.)

MM.
You walk upwards on an escalator, with a speed of 1 step per second. After 50 steps, you are at the end. You turn around and run downwards with a speed of 5 steps per second. After 125 steps, you are back at the beginning of the escalator.
How many steps do you need if the escalator stands still?

I think you need to mention if the escalator is moving and if so, is it moving the same direction (up or down) on both direction and speed when the walker travels Up and Down.

Haven't got the first one yet! Please enlighten me. Somebody else may still be working on it... You want me to spoil it for them. Can't do that.
